Who is the California Mid-Winter Fair Heritage Foundation? The California Mid-Winter Fair Heritage Foundation (CMWFHF) is a nonprofit organization established in 2011 by local members of our community who are dedicated to supporting and improving the California Mid-Winter Fair and Fiesta. We received our 501C-3 status in the summer of 2014. The mission of the CMWFHF is to solicit, accumulate and disperse funds to maintain a standard of excellence in the California Mid-Winter Fairgrounds facilities and infrastructure, assist with the development of long-term year-round uses of the fairground facilities to aid in the sustainability of the California Mid-Winter Fair for future generations. Why does the California Mid-Winter Fair need support? In the 2011-2012 fiscal year all State Funding for fairs in California was cut. The impact of the cuts in funding had a bigger impact on smaller fairs, including the California Mid-Winter Fair. As a result of the cuts in funding, some fairs in California have closed. 95% of the annual budget of the California Mid-Winter Fair and Fiesta is earned during the 10 days of our fair. With the lack of State funding, the fair has not been able to do all of the long term improvements and infrastructure to the fairgrounds. Since its creation, the CMWFHF has been able to help with many additions to the fair and fairgrounds including cash donations, The Redneck Rodeo, improvements and additions to the RV lots, and Palm Oasis Concession Area. Why Join? Your tax deductible charitable donation and membership in CFMWHF will help us to make long term improvements to the fairgrounds and maintain the heritage of our local fair for generations to come. There are many things that need to be done to improve the fairgrounds and the fair experience that will benefit our community. Help us grow by joining today! |
